Marketing and Business Development Manager

We create exceptional websites and apps and seek an experienced marketing and business development manager to join our team. This is across our two brands – F2B Digital and F2B Sites.

The marketing manager side of the role involves leading our marketing strategy to deliver exceptional company marketing. This includes both management and ‘hands-on’ marketing. This aspect requires somebody with at least 3 years of relevant experience managing and working in digital marketing.

The business development aspect involves leading sales growth and helping to expand our customer base. This includes assistance with sales – such as writing proposals and following up. This aspect requires somebody with at least 4 years of relevant experience in business development and/or sales.

This is a remote working role, with occasional face-to-face team meetings in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. It also involves attendance at some regional networking events and trade shows. It therefore requires somebody located in East Anglia, UK – who is happy to travel for this.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the delivery of our company marketing – to generate new sales enquiries and generate additional interest from existing customers
  • Manage, identify and develop relationships with new and existing customers and partners to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Perform ‘hands-on’ marketing, including writing social / blog posts, email marketing etc.
  • Identify and attend relevant networking events and trade shows / exhibitions
  • Help optimise our lead conversion process to maximise profitability
  • Track and monitor KPIs to ensure good ROI

Other Responsibilities

  • Helping with new inbound sales requests from existing clients
  • Assistance with hands-on digital marketing (e.g. SEO, optimisation) of clients and our own websites
  • Working with the managing director to review and agree high-level business plans and strategic decisions, such as new service offerings and strategies.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.

Necessary Skills

  • Demonstrable ability and experience in delivering high quality marketing
  • Proven experience to successfully develop and bring in new business
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience maintaining positive relationships with existing clients
  • Eager and results driven, with a professional approach
  • Good general knowledge of websites and apps and how to market & sell these services
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing channels and techniques including SEO, PPC, social media marketing, email, and content marketing.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, including managing multiple tasks in parallel
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Proactive with suggesting improvements to approach and processes

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience of remote working
  • Knowledge or experience of event websites, apps and bespoke apps
  • Knowledge or experience of WordPress websites
  • Relevant marketing qualification e.g. CIM
  • Business or marketing related degree or other qualification
  • Experience of using task management systems (e.g. ClickUp, Jira or similar) and logging time
  • Experience with ActiveCampaign or similar tools
  • Working knowledge of WordPress – e.g. adding posts, performing content changes

Salary

  • £35,000 to £44,000 + profit related bonus + sales & marketing bonus
  • (Salary range is dependant on experience, qualifications and skills)
