Early in 2011, F2B were approached by Captive Media to develop the full back-end system and mobile website for their toilet gaming technology. Their system consists of a screen above a urinal that plays adverts until a user is ready. The device automatically detects this and a game commences where the user controls direction by aiming their stream left or right.

We were successful in winning the contract and following trials in summer 2011, the system is now in use in several venues - in Cambridge and London.

The back-end system developed by F2B handles game session data, high scores and unique codes that are displayed to the user at the end of the game. The user can then enter this code on a mobile website (which F2B also designed & developed), which lets them submit their score and compare how they rank with other gamers. F2B also designed the logo and developed a data feed, which Captive Media use to display game data on other systems.

Captive Media formally released details of their system to the press on the 25th of November and have enjoyed a great deal of coverage in the UK and overseas. UK coverage included the BBC, several national newspapers, national & local radio stations and numerous tweets.

F2B continue to work with Captive Media, assisting with ideas for improvements and adding new functionality. The product will be scaled up and rolled out across further venues in 2012.
